Description

The design of our standard newborn torso phantom is based on an average newborn torso. It is made from realistic tissue-mimicking materials with ultrasound speckles suitable for Ultrasound and X-Ray/CT imaging methods. The phantom has a water-fillable umbilical cord and bladder, which can both be used for catheterization training under ultrasound guidance.

The phantom was developed in collaboration with a group of physician experts from the Sonographic Clinical Assessment of the Newborn (SCAN) Training Program program at the University of Calgary (Department of Pediatrics).
