Newborn Torso
The design of our standard newborn torso phantom is based on an average newborn torso. It is made from realistic tissue–mimicking materials with ultrasound speckles suitable for Ultrasound and X-Ray/CT imaging methods. The phantom has a water-fillable umbilical cord and bladder, which can both be used for catheterization training under ultrasound guidance.Â
The phantom was developed in collaboration with a group of physician experts from the Sonographic Clinical Assessment of the Newborn (SCAN) Training Program program at the University of Calgary (Department of Pediatrics).
