The design of our standard newborn torso phantom is based on an average sized newborn ~ 40 weeks old baby. It is made from realistic tissue mimicking materials suitable for Ultrasound imaging.
The phantom’s anatomy has the following components:
- Heart
- IVC
- Umbilical cord
- Liver
- Water Fillable Bladder
- Realistic Body Tissue
An ideal tool to train the following:

- Skills required to identify and catheter a full and empty bladder under ultrasound guidance
True Phantom Solutions Inc. maintains a healthy collaboration with the group of physician experts from the Sonographic Clinical Assessment of the Newborn (SCAN) Training Program program at the University of Calgary (Department of Pediatrics) that helps us in developing these neonate phantoms and to hold strength in customizing them.
