Engineered to meet the advancing demands of veterinary education, research, and clinical practice, the latest Canine Phantom sets a new benchmark in anatomical realism and training versatility. Developed in collaboration with leading veterinary institutions across Canada, the USA, the UK, and Australia, this upgraded model builds on the success of its predecessor with significant enhancements driven by global expert feedback.
Derived from a real CT dataset of a two-year-old male Bull Mastiff x Rhodesian Ridgeback weighing 37 kg, the phantom features both skeletal and soft tissue structures. For handling purposes, the model was scaled down to 16 kg. Cutting-edge AI algorithms were employed to extract and replicate anatomical details with remarkable precision, resulting in a model that delivers exceptional fidelity for both diagnostic and procedural training.
Key Enhancements:
- Ultrasoft Tissue Simulation: Offers lifelike tactile feedback, and realistic ultrasound performance that closely mimics living tissue.
- Durable Build: Designed for repeated use in demanding clinical environments without compromising structural integrity.
- Advanced Vascular Detailing: Liver, spleen, and pancreas vasculature have been refined for accurate organ positioning.
- Realistic Heart: Includes all chambers, internal valves, and major vessels (IVC, SVC, aorta) for comprehensive cardiac imaging.
- Expanded Anatomical Accuracy: Includes a detailed vasculature, a realistic intestinal tract featuring small and large intestines, caecum, and rectum.
- Added Biopsy Feature: The phantom is capable of performing ultrasound guided biopsy procedure within the abdominal area.
These upgrades reflect a major leap forward in both anatomical precision and educational value, ensuring the phantom meets expectations for realism and functionality.
Ideal for use in academic institutions and clinical training settings, this model supports a broad spectrum of applications, from ultrasound instruction to diagnostic imaging. With its robust design, responsive materials, and high anatomical accuracy, the Canine Phantom is an indispensable tool for preparing the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Technical Properties:
| Type of Tissue | Sound Velocity[m/s] | Density [g/cm3] | Attenuation Measured at 2.25 MHz [dB/cm] | Hardness [Shore OO] | T2 [ms] | Speckles |
| Organs with Speckles (liver, kidneys, etc.) | 1435 ± 10 | 0.99 | 1.0 ± 0.2 | 20 | 70 | VARIABLE |
| Organs without Speckles (stomach, intestines, etc.) | 1400 ± 10 | 0.99 | 1.0 ± 0.2 | 20 | 70 | NO |
| Body Tissue | 1410 ± 10 | 1.00 | 1.2 ± 0.2 | 30 | 65 | NO/LOW |
All standard phantoms are coated with a protective layer of the harder urethane rubber to offer enhanced appearance and safeguard the phantom from any scratches when handled without care. This coated layer also provides a glossy finish and slightly changes the hardness of the phantom. The Hardness [Shore 00] for the ‘Body Tissue’ mentioned above is measured without the coat layer. The coat will increase the hardness by approximately 30 points meaning that if the body tissue hardness is OO 30, the coated body tissue will be OO 60.
