Microwave Technique-Based Noninvasive Monitoring of Intracranial Pressure Using Realistic Phantom Models
This study presents a noninvasive system for monitoring intracranial pressure (ICP) using microwave sensing and anatomically realistic head phantoms. The phantoms enable testing of lightweight, flexible planar antennas placed on the scalp, allowing comfortable, continuous ICP monitoring without invasive procedures. Validated against traditional sensors, the system reliably detects small ICP changes. This approach offers a safe, portable, and effective alternative for real-time brain pressure monitoring, with potential use in clinical, emergency, and home care settings.
